Family Testimonials
I just wanted you to know how grateful I am for all that you have done and continue to do for my daughter. When she came home from school with sever anxiety, she had lost that spark that was uniquely hers…that smile and laughter that we all knew was gone and I was not sure it would ever come back. As a mom, all you want is for your kids to be happy and find themselves in a place (mentally and physically) that they can do this. With all the help of the LAT people, and especially you and Jamie, I heard that perky happy voice yesterday and it was the best sound in the world. She called to tell me about a new product idea she has, but I think she also called to just connect. We talked about her roommates, her cat, her classes, and most of all you, Jenn. She told me that she is doing well, but if you had not come back with her, she is not sure where she would be right now. She loves working with you and trusts and respects you so much. I just wanted you to know, Jenn, that what you do (and I am sure you do this for every client) …you do well and with a lot of passion. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my precious daughter.

Seeing a family member with chronic, persistent mental illness improve is priceless. The Life Adjustment Team has made this happen for me. A key to recovery is having family support while having professionals guide the client.
The Team gives people with mental illness an opportunity to improve their life by using their proven methods. After six months of treatment, I can speak to the success and efforts of the Life Adjustment Team.
I can now enjoy my time with my nephew, Jeffrey. Seeing him gain an understanding of how to manage his illness is a gift. I know that he is working on getting the life he wants and deserves. I urge families to keep their hope and let The Life Adjustment Team give help to their relatives.

LAT's approach helped our 21-year-old son and us... Jamie, our counselor, afforded our son the opportunity to speak about issues that he could not bring up with us. He then helped us to understand our son better. In listening to our issues regarding our son, Jamie helped us to let go sufficiently so that our son could find his way to deal with his bipolar illness. We appreciate LAT immensely.

When we arrived at LAT, my emotional resources had been exhausted. I was struggling to survive the chaos created in our family of seven by our adult son's refusal to stay on medication for his mood disorder. From the initial assessment with The Life Adjustment Team, I grew more hopeful. I believe God brought us to a place of insight and clarity which defined our responsibilities and our son's. It was so important to understand that we could draw a limit line and hold to it. Our son is now on his own and successfully managing his illness. Without LAT's intervention, we would possibly still be flailing.

During a difficult period in my family's life, we found it necessary to reach out and turn to professionals to help guide us through a trying and painful time. Finding the right team of individuals who not only have the knowledge but also the understanding of the types of issues we were confronting can, in and of itself, be a frustrating experience. Through a recommendation, we were fortunate to discover The Life Adjustment Team. As we continue to deal with some very difficult circumstances, the staff at LAT works with all of us to help develop a clear vision of where we have been and what we want to achieve, as individuals and as a family. They put together a team of doctors and counselors who continue to work with us in order to achieve our goal of getting and staying on a path to well-being. The Team keeps us focused, is always there for support and is a comfort on a bad day. This has been a challenging journey for our entire family, a challenge we are able to learn and grow from with the support and encouragement from everyone at The Life Adjustment Team.

Is life perfect since we started with The Life Adjustment Team six months ago? No, but when you have a child with emotional problems which have turned her life and that of her family into a turbulent, often dark rollercoaster ride, you are looking for something other than perfection. What we have found is a place where we can take our worries, concerns and hopes, and find direction. This is a new experience for us. Prior to LAT, we were alone, experiencing one crisis after another, with our family and marriage being torn apart. Now, we are all being encouraged and coached. As problems arise, we can turn to the Team for answers and direction instead of floundering on our own and arguing over the meaning and solutions. Our daughter is, for the first time, getting to what the issues really are, with a unified approach to medication, therapy and rehabilitation. No, life is not perfect, but it is improved. Our daughter is consistent with her work with the Team. Her medications are being adjusted and reduced in conjunction with a better understanding of who she is and how she should best be treated. We are learning to let go of at least some of the stuff and regaining our marriage and family.

Fortunately, we were referred to The Life Adjustment Team who outlined their anticipated goals to us. Together with a change in our daughter's psychopharmacologist, your personal counseling (both with our daughter and ourselves), social workers, companions, therapy and social programs, she has once again become the same person she was prior to these past few difficult years (and we also feel that we got our own lives back).
